Independent Bookstore Day
Saturday, April 28
Bookstores are unique places in the chaos and hubbub of our modern times. You are just as liable to come in order to disconnect as you are to feel more engaged with the world around you. Bookstores embody dichotomy: antiquated yet ever-more-relevant, sanctuaries of knowledge but purveyors of distraction, nerdy yet sophisticated, esoteric and yet always welcoming. Cities across the nation have seen the resurgence of these centers of conscience and community, and we want to celebrate with you! So come out and enjoy a day of browsing, reading, and reveling in all things book-related.
In addition to limited edition goodies from this year and years' past, we've scheduled a few special events during the day:
10am-noon -- It wouldn't be Bookstore Day here if we didn't have our Big Kids / Little Kids Juice Stand (mimosas & juice)!
11am-1pm -- Our very good from Illustoria will be here with a special craft time for kids of all ages. Appropriately, we'll be making our very own books!
2pm-3pm -- Music & spoken word from The Book of Jones!
And who knows, we might throw in some surprises along the way! We like to keep things interesting, you know!
