Wednesday November 13
EAST BAY BOOKSELLERS is pleased to host another installment of Freud's Bar on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:30pm.
In Mourning Freud, Madelon Sprengnether, Ph.D. examines the losses of Freud's early life and their impact on his theorizing. Freud endured serious losses throughout the years, including the deaths of his daughter Sophie and his grandson Heinerle; a cancer which resulted in the piecemeal destruction of hist mouth; and his forced emigration to England.
Join us for a thoughtful conversation with Professor Sprengnether, as we explore how psychoanalysis has dveloped post-Freud and Freud himself might have extended his thinking into the 21st Century.
